A Blues for Her is a poetry book by the Greek writer and actress Evi Koroni.

This is her first English poetry book. This collection contains 12 poems that touch on the subjects of love and loss. A book filled with memories.


Dear reader,

A Blues for Her is a poetry collection based on letters. I'm a love letter writer, so I used that inspiration, along with the various poems and letters that I've sent, and created this book. I love blues music, I love letters. This poetry collection is the first book in English. A book filled with memories and love.

About the Author


Evi Koroni is an actress, writer, and award-winning filmmaker from Greece. Since 2013, she maintains a steady presence in the theater scene as an actress and as assistant director. Evi has directed and written the script for two short films. Evi's second short movie is a movie about homophobia and has won an award, seven official nominations in film festivals. Evi has worked on radio with her shows to focus on cultural issues but also socially. She has worked as a theater teacher for children with Down and Autism Syndrome.

In 2016, she published her first poetry book in Greek.
In 2019, she published her first poetry book in English.




THE SONG 

I would like one day to be reborn 
but, not as a human being. 
This has been a tiring existence to me. 
I would like to be just an innocent song. 
It will be so beautiful I was your favorite song. 
I would be free from such a suffering. 
I wouldn't care about what's happening in the world or if my friends are unhappy. 
I would hang off your lips playfully - all the time. 
I would wait patiently when you would decide to make me "sound" so I rush out from you. 
That would be my only agony. I would live happily within you. 
I would sleep with you in the evenings and maybe then your innocent soul would sing me, lovingly even in your sleep. 
I would like one day to be reborn 
but, not as a human being.
